Timber flooring is a great option and incredibly versatile. It offers a range of benefits and advantages over other flooring styles, such as carpet and vinyl.
1. Add value and character to your home
Elegance, warmth and space. Timber floors are an easy way to make a great first impression with guests, and potential buyers when it comes time to sell. While the look can be achieved with a laminate floor, wood brings an unmistakable authenticity.
2. Can improve the way your home sounds
A concern people sometimes have when considering a move to timber floors is that it will make their house sound hollow or give it an echo. Modern cork floorboards actually work to dampen sounds and improve acoustics.
3. Easy to refinish and upgrade
Unlike carpets or tiles, timber flooring doesn’t necessarily need to be replaced if you want to make changes. It can be refinished at significantly lower cost than buying and installing new flooring.
4. Low maintenance
Timber floors can be swept, mopped, steam cleaned or vacuumed and are more resistant to stains than carpet. They don’t collect pet hair, dust and debris and spills are easily wiped away.
Timber Flooring Options
Hardwood
Harwood timber comes in a range of different species to suit your interior.
Ranging from the lighter coloured Tasmanian oak to the darker Jarrah or Red Mahogany.
This timber is installed raw and then sanded and polished.
Engineered
This type of timber product is produced by attaching an overlay of timber species to plywood and pre sanding and polishing the timber before it is installed in your home.
Engineered flooring is easily installed and the pre-finish allows you to walk on it the same day.
Bamboo
Bamboo is one of the newest timber on the market and comes in a range of pre-finished colours to suit your decor.
It is installed using the glueless Uniclic flooring system.
Bamboo is extremely hard wearing and impact resistant, however it is still a timber product and can surface scratch.
Cork
Cork has been around for years and still comes in a range of colours and patterns.
There are three installations methods to choose from: Pre-finished cork that is laid as a floating floor, pre-finished cork that is direct stuck to your flooring surface, or the traditional raw cork that is direct stuck and then sanded and polished.
